The Kenyan Court of Appeal has dismissed Paul Ndung’u’s bid to reopen a concluded legal dispute over the SportPesa trademark, ruling the application “without merit” and awarding costs to Milestone Games.
This ruling comes after Mr Ndung’u suffered a similar defeat in November 2025, when the High Court of England and Wales rejected his claim against SportPesa and its leadership.
SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri hailed the judgment as a decisive end to years of “vexatious litigation and media manipulation.”
“The court’s decision vindicates us in Kenya and England and includes a KSh 374 million costs award. This legal certainty allows us to focus on the future, investing in communities, infrastructure, and sport development,” Karauri said.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Kenyan sports, announcing a KSh 120 million multi-sport sponsorship across boxing, rugby, and rallying. The initiative will strengthen local sporting ecosystems and provide opportunities for athletes at all levels.
“Supporting sport is at the heart of our brand. Our focus continues on rugby, rally, boxing, and the Magical Kenya Open, nurturing talent from grassroots to elite competition,” Karauri added.
With the legal dispute now concluded, SportPesa says it is turning the page, focusing on expanding its impact on Kenyan and African sports.
