TECNO used IFA ShowStoppers 2026 in Berlin to demonstrate its Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone, a device designed around a true 0mm display border that removes the visible black edge between the screen and the phone’s frame.
The company described the concept as an industry-first design milestone, targeting the final one to two millimetres of visible border that remain on many of today’s narrow-bezel smartphones.
Achieving the effect required TECNO to rethink the internal architecture of the device. The company said it applied new approaches to component stacking, structural engineering and screen packaging to allow the display to extend visually to the handset’s edges.
The result is intended to create a more immersive screen experience for video, gaming, photography and browsing.
TECNO’s latest concept, however, is not a retail product. The phone has no confirmed commercial launch date or market, with the company positioning it instead as a technology demonstration for future device development.
The technologies being explored include camera integration, touch responsiveness, sound, structural engineering and user-interface interaction.
The bezelless phone was the centrepiece of a larger TECNO technology showcase featuring new laptops and smartphones.
Among the highlights was the MEGABOOK T15 360 Series, which introduces a 360-degree hinge and touchscreen functionality to TECNO’s laptop range. The MEGABOOK T15 360 and T15 360 Pro can operate in Laptop, Tablet, Tent and Stand modes.
The two models feature 15.6-inch touch displays with 10-point multi-touch support and optional MPP 2.0 active-pen functionality. The T15 360 uses a Full HD 60Hz display, while the T15 360 Pro offers a 2.5K 120Hz panel with 100 per cent sRGB colour coverage.
Processing options extend to Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, supported by LPDDR5X memory and PCIe SSD storage. Both models feature 70Wh batteries and 65W PD GaN chargers, with connectivity extending to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
TECNO said the series is expected to enter the European market in the fourth quarter of 2026, while launch plans for other markets will be announced locally.
The company also presented the MEGABOOK K15S WCL, designed for students and early-career professionals, and the larger MEGABOOK T17 Ultra, which features a 17.3-inch display and configurations of up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor.
The T17 Ultra also features a 99.99Wh battery and 100W GaN PD fast charging, targeting demanding productivity, creative applications, moderate gaming and entertainment.
On the smartphone side, TECNO showcased the POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition and CAMON Slim 5G.
The POVA model combines Tonino Lamborghini design elements with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G platform, TECNO’s P1 Graphic Chip and a 5K IceShield Vapor Chamber Cooling System.
CAMON Slim 5G takes a different approach, placing an emphasis on imaging and portability in a 6.39mm-thick body, alongside AI features and a range of colour options.
For TECNO users in Kenya and other growing digital markets, the products reflect a broader industry shift towards flexible devices that can support work, learning, entertainment and content creation.
TECNO has not yet announced Kenyan pricing or launch dates for the products featured in Berlin. Consumers will need to rely on official TECNO Kenya announcements for local availability.
