Fly 748.com has officially resumed scheduled flight operations, signaling a strategic comeback aimed at strengthening domestic air travel and enhancing connectivity across Kenya.
The airline’s relaunch comes against a backdrop of growing demand for local air travel, as counties continue to attract investment, host high-profile events, and drive increased movement of business and leisure travelers.
Head of the airline, George Oduor, said the return to scheduled operations is anchored on operational discipline and a commitment to consistency.
“Delivering predictable, efficient service every day is at the core of what we are building. Our systems are designed to ensure reliability, from scheduling to turnaround times,” Oduor said.
He pointed out that the airline’s experience in humanitarian aviation has played a crucial role in shaping its operational model.
“Operating in last-mile environments teaches precision, adaptability, and strong coordination. These are the same principles we are applying to scheduled services,” he added.
The airline has kicked off its operations with flights from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Mombasa and Ukunda, routes expected to serve both business and leisure travelers heading to the Coast.
“These initial routes provide a stable base for our operations. Expansion will follow a structured approach, with new destinations and increased capacity introduced as demand grows,” Oduor noted.
Chairman of 748 Air Services, Ahmed Jibril, said the airline’s return is timely, particularly for the Coast region which relies heavily on seamless air access.
“Our goal is to make travel more convenient for everyone—from corporate travellers and government officials to tourists and entrepreneurs. Reliable connectivity is essential for economic growth,” Jibril said.
He added that the airline has introduced a loyalty programme to reward repeat customers and build long-term relationships with passengers.
Managing Director Moses Mwangi said the airline is focused on scaling sustainably, starting with a controlled rollout of key routes before expanding further.
“We are laying a strong operational foundation in this first phase. As demand increases, we will enhance frequencies, deploy larger aircraft, and explore regional opportunities,” Mwangi said.
He emphasized that the airline will continue to balance its commercial ambitions with its humanitarian aviation work, which remains a core part of its identity.
Fly 748.com is positioning itself as a critical enabler of domestic tourism, trade, and regional integration, particularly in underserved destinations with high growth potential.
The relaunch also reflects shifting travel patterns in Kenya, where more passengers are opting for air travel as economic activity intensifies and counties host major conferences and cultural events.
With a refreshed service offering that includes improved scheduling, streamlined booking, and enhanced customer experience, the airline aims to rebuild trust and establish itself as a dependable player in the domestic aviation sector.
“We are focused on making air travel accessible without compromising on safety and service quality,” Oduor said.
