SolidRun has introduced a new generation of high-performance edge computing modules at Embedded World 2026, unveiling the P100 COM Express Type 6 (COMx6) module family powered by Advanced Micro Devices’s AMD Ryzen AI Embedded P100 processors.

The new modules are designed to support real-world edge deployments where computing systems operate in mobile or harsh environments. Target sectors include industrial automation, transportation, robotics, medical systems, and other mission-critical applications requiring reliable and high-performance computing at the edge.

According to Atai Ziv, CEO of SolidRun, the shift toward edge-based artificial intelligence is pushing computing systems beyond controlled environments into more demanding operational settings.

“Edge AI is moving out of controlled environments and into the real world, like mobile platforms, harsh industrial sites, and mission-critical deployments where serviceability and longevity matter as much as raw compute,” Ziv said. “Our new P100 COM Express Type 6 modules are built to deliver powerful AI performance at the edge while improving the mechanical durability and serviceability product developers need to deploy confidently in demanding environments.”

Rugged Memory Architecture for Mobile Systems

A standout feature of the new P100 COMx6 series is the integration of LP-CAMM2 memory, bringing modular serviceability together with the durability typically associated with soldered memory systems.

The architecture combines the flexibility of replaceable memory with the energy efficiency of LPDDR5 technology while improving resistance to vibration and motion—common challenges in mobile platforms.

Key advantages of the LP-CAMM2 design include:

  • Field-serviceable and upgradeable memory similar to traditional modular systems
  • Improved vibration tolerance through screw-lock mechanical retention
  • High-bandwidth LPDDR5X-class performance of up to 8533–9600 MT/s for AI and sensor processing workloads

These features make the platform suitable for deployment in rail systems, mobile robotics, aerospace and defense platforms, marine environments, heavy vehicles, and mobile medical devices.

High-Performance Edge AI Capabilities

Powered by advanced CPU, GPU, and neural processing unit (NPU) architectures from Advanced Micro Devices, the P100 COMx6 modules are built to support real-time analytics, machine vision, and autonomous control.

The platform delivers up to 50 TOPS from the integrated NPU and up to 59 TOPS total AI performance across the system-on-chip, enabling developers to accelerate edge inference workloads while maintaining embedded-friendly power consumption.

Built for Extreme Environments

The industrial-grade modules support an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, with configurable power envelopes between 15W and 54W. This flexibility allows deployment in fanless, sealed, and high-performance systems that must operate continuously in challenging environments.

HoneyComb Platform Speeds Development

To help developers accelerate product development, SolidRun is also offering a HoneyComb evaluation platform designed specifically for the P100 COM Express Type 6 modules.

The platform allows customers to prototype, test, and evaluate the modules in real-world scenarios and can serve as a foundation for customized carrier boards tailored to specific deployment requirements.

Target Applications

The new module family is aimed at a range of emerging edge AI applications, including:

  • Mobile robotics, AMRs, and AGVs requiring real-time perception and edge inference
  • Transportation and rail systems needing rugged mobile analytics platforms
  • Industrial automation and machine vision for inspection and closed-loop control
  • Mobile medical systems such as diagnostic carts and connected clinical devices
  • Heavy machinery and off-highway platforms for predictive maintenance and sensor-driven automation

Availability

The P100 COM Express Type 6 module family and the HoneyComb evaluation platform are available immediately through SolidRun. The company said customers will also receive a comprehensive software support package and access to development tools to help streamline deployment of edge AI systems.
